Norina Treanor
Director of Children's Ministries
Norina and her family relocated to Fairfax County in the Summer of 2008 and have been members of FBC Springfield since October 2008. She joined the staff as Part-time Director of Children’s Ministries in May of 2010. Thanks to assignments with the US Air Force, where her husband Don serves as a Civil Engineer, Norina has had years of volunteer church experience, both overseas and in the United States. She has participated in and played various leadership roles in children, women, military, and music ministries. Norina also brings experience and training with children from volunteering in the community with Girl Scouts and in the public schools. Her most important endeavor and experience however comes from being mom to three school age girls and wife to Don (Married 1991).
Norina grew up in Prattville AL and graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Operations Management and a MS in Industrial Engineering (Safety and Ergonomics). She has worked for the American Red Cross, as a civilian for the US Air Force and also the private sector. This experience proved that relationships are key and that good communication and teamwork are of utmost importance and she tries to infuse those principles into First Baptist Church of Springfield, VA. Having asked Christ to be her Savior as a teenager, Norina treasures that God is totally in control and gives the Children’s ministry all to Him! It is vitally important in the life of a church and Norina’s desire is to build relationships, staying focused on God, and to bring children and their families to Jesus Christ by providing coordinated and effective children’s programs that are nurturing, safe, fun and engaging!
