Reverend Hammond Coates

Hammond graduated from Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia with an A.S. in Music in 1972. In 1974, he graduated from Gardner-Webb College(University) in Boiling Springs, North Carolina with a B.A. in Religious Education. His seminary work was done at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. He graduated with a M.A. in Religious Education in December 1975.

Hammond is married to Connie. Connie is employed by the local Lifeway Christian Store as an Assistant Manager. Hammond and Connie have two children; Elizabeth and Brian.

 

Elizabeth is married to Chris Emery and they have two children, Ryan, and Bailee. Elizabeth and Chris both graduated from Gardner-Webb University. They live in Shelby, North Carolina and work in the Cleveland County school system where they teach and coach baseball, soccer, football, and basketball. 

 

Brian is married to Christine Kofroth and they live in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Brian is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He is a Minister with Brentwood Baptist and The Church at Station Hill, A Regional Campus of Brentwood Baptist Church. Christine is a Nurse and is with Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hammond enjoys woodworking, Furniture Making, Yard work and Golfing and GRANDCHILDREN! (not necessarily in that order).
