Ministry Assistant - Accounting Services

David came to FBC Springfield as a Ministry Assistant in September, 2007. In addition to his financial responsibilities, David is the Church webmaster and handles some of the communications workload. His wife, Teresa, is a career Air Force officer, whose profession brought the family to the Washington DC area. David has three children who are in elementary and Jr. high school in Springfield, and they account for his second “full-time” job. He was a stay-at-home parent for almost nine years until there was an opportunity for him to work a full-time job with enough flexibility to continue managing the household as before.

David received a B.A. in Music Education from Louisiana State University in 1992, and he continued to study math and engineering while Teresa finished her Masters Degree in Social Work and was commissioned by the Air Force. He has worked both front and back office banking assignments with Hancock Bank of MS and LA, as well as NationsBank, TX (now Bank of America). He is a general fan of all the arts, but music and photography are his primary interests.

David can usually be found behind the video camera during the Contemporary Worship Service, but he plays his trumpet during special worship and holiday services. He also assists the teachers of the 1st - 3rd grade choirs on Wednesday nights.

Hammond Coates

Mark 8:27-38

How do we follow Jesus today?  Is our age so different that we can't really relate to Him?  Following Jesus has always been difficult if we do it as He calls us to do it.
