School Supplies with Physicals

Churches in the central Springfield area will again this summer sponsor free physical examinations for uninsured pre-kindergarten through sixth grade children entering Fairfax County Public Schools for the first time. Each child will also receive a backpack filled with school supplies at the time of the examination. You are invited to participate by providing supplies from the list below or a monetary contribution. (Please make your check out to the church and designate it to "Springfield School Physical Program.") More details in July newsletter.

Most Requested School Supplies:

  • Crayola crayons, 24 count (no 64 count)
  • Crayola markers, thick & thin, washable
  • Colored pencils (24 maximum per pkg.)
  • Regular #2 pencils
  • Elmer’s glue
  • Glue sticks, especially large & jumbo size
  • Child size Fiskar scissors
  • Red correcting pens and/or pencils
  • Ball point pens in black, blue or green
  • 3 x 5 lined index cards
  • Pocket folders - pockets on bottom, with or without brads; red, blue, green yellow, purple
  • Dry erase markers, individual or pkg of 4 (low odor)
  • 12” ruler, with inches & centimeters marked
  • Pink Erasers (ex. Pink Pearl)
  • 3 inch by 3 inch “Post-Its”
  • Highlighters (especially yellow)
  • Pencil box or sturdy zipper case for pencils
  • Black and white marble composition books
  • Spiral notebooks, single & 3-subject, wide lines only
  • Three ring binders - 1”, 2” and 3” wide
  • Three ring binder dividers
  • Loose leaf paper, wide lines only
  • Back packs (smaller for young children)
  • Hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes
